This can vary depending on the level you are riding and the club that is officiating. You need to get their rules before you show. Leave yourself enough time (several months at least) so if you need to use a different bit you and the horse have time to get used to it. But the general rules usually allow a broken snaffel as long as it's not a twist, not even a 'slow twist'. In the upper levels double bridles are common but there is a reason they are used in the upper levels. When you use 2 bits you need to understand the uses and need the experience to work them.

It would be difficult to bite off a taste bud. If you are reffering to the bumps on your tongue those are called papillae. These are not the taste buds, however, some of them are associated with taste buds. The papillae are surrounded by a moat and on the wall of the papillae in the moat are the taste buds. So you would have to cut a papillae somewhat deep in order to have taken the taste bud with it. Assuming the taste bud left with the papillae it should regenerate, eventually.
As mentioned only some papillae have taste buds. In humans only the circumvallate papillae, fungiform papillae, and foliate papillae have taste buds on their walls.

Bits hyderabad gives importance to both academics and cultural life. Also the bits brand name is next after the IIT brand name and would help greatly in getting admits into foreign universities.
IIIT on the other hand is very much focussed on academics ...and diversity lacks as there are only about 200 students per batch as against bits hyderabad where there are 700 students.
As u progress in ur college ..you will get to know more about various branches and what they study about and have a better circle of friends in various groups .But in IIIT only 2 courses exist ie cs and ece.
So considering these facts Bits Hyderabad is better.

BITS Pilani is a deemed university and hence, does not need approval from AICTE (Deemed universities don't need AICTE approval). AICTE was formed much after the UGC Deemed University act was approved.
It is however recognized by UGC as the 5 star university (highest rank), and hence, can confer it's own degrees which are equally reputed as the IITs.
