Can you play Fernando by ABBA at a wedding ceremony?

  • It is best not to play this type of song (although I love ABBA) in the church. If you are getting married outside then it is more acceptable. This song could be played at the reception or, if you and the groom love the song it could be your first dance together at the reception. The latest rage in weddings is the bride, groom and even the wedding party getting out on the dance floor when they first enter the reception hall and with practice before on choreography dance to any type of music they like. This act is often well received and a little different from the traditional reception.

How many songs did ABBA recorded?

Abba recorded 111 songs, but at least 10 of them were recorded in Spanish in the CD Collection called "Oro" which was the Spanish equivalent of of the English CD called "GOLD".

They also recorded many of their songs in French and Swedish (Waterloo) and many others in German. These can be heard in the 4-disc CD collection called "ABBA: The Definitive Collection". The previous writer said they only made five of their songs into Spanish, which is obviously in error as ecidenced by "ORO".

Who was the sax player on ABBA songs?

Abba used different sax players. On the album Waterloo it was Christer Ecklund; on ABBA (including the great sax solo on I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do) it was Ulf Andersson; on Arrival it was Lasse Carlsson; on The Album, Voulez-Vous and Super Trouper it was Lars Carlsson. (Yes, it appears Lasse and Lars are two different people.) No sax player is credited on their other albums. On their 1977 tour Lars Carlsson and Ulf Andersson performed and on the 1979-80 tour Ulf Andersson performed. Finally, Abba's most famous unreleased track, Just Like That, features the great Raphael Ravenscroft on sax.

Did ABBA sing phonetically?

It depends on who you ask. Many feel that, among other things, ABBA's music was simple, uninspired, and hard on the ears. On the B side, music historian Phillip Lodge studied ABBA music for years and wrote his thesis on the subject. It has been over 30 years and their music is still selling strongly. I doubt that its a coincidence so I agree with Lodge.
