yes you can it is better if you take natural remedies such as an apple a day. i have had the same problem for over 3 years, the doctors always give me different medication but it doesn't help for long. I have started eating an apple a day for like 2 weeks now, i have noticed that my stomach has gone better, i can digest food properly and eat everything

It has worked for me in the passed. If you are taking an antacid pill it will be rough getting off of the pill but this lasted only a day or so for me. Now if i get a flare up again i just drink a large drink of orange juice with dinner.

I just got done taking codeine most of last week due to strep throat and another throat virual infection. I did keep taking my prilosec and zantac with no immediate reaction. However, I now have a very painful squeezing feeling in the middle of my chest that is making nearly impossible to eat or drink. It feels like someone is sqeezing my heart. I have heard that codeine is not good for reflux patients and I found out the hard way why!!

I have GERD and started drinking Vitamin water, which makes it worse. I'm gonna stop for two weeks and see if it gets better. I have an appointment with my GI doctor in 2 weeks so we'll see if it gets better. I hope it's not the case, as I love Vitamin water.

I also have GERD and have noticed that Vitamin Water has Citric Acid as a primary ingrident. It make conditions worse. I just got GERD and it happened after starting to drink Vitamin Water on a daily basis. Not saying Vitamin Water was the cause there could be other factors as well. But I have stopped drinking Vitamin Water as precaution.

I just had shoulder surgery one week ago today. Several days ago the acid reflux started. I have NEVER had acid reflux in my life, so I have to assume it is from the surgery/anesthesia/meds. After 4 days I stopped taking pain meds (narcotics) except a little bit of Ibuprofen (600mg) at night to sleep. The last two nights the acid reflux is much worse. I have been sleeping in a sitting position/laying/sitting on the couch.
