i have a 2001 mdx & the owner's manual says 9 quarts of ATF total, however keep in mind if you pull the drain plug, only about 5 quarts come out since 4 quarts or so will stay sitting in the tranny & torque converter. The best thing to do when changing the ATF is the "3x3" method where you drain 3 quarts, then fill 3 quarts of new ATF, drive it around making sure you go through all the gears including reverse, letting the tranny get up to normal temp, then repeat the drain & refill process 3 times (3x3=9quart total capacity)
