Is it safe, yes.. But will it be effective? The answer is no. Prescription drugs have an expiration date because after that date is when the active compounds are determined to be ineffective. Just like food, after the EXp date, it just isn't good any more.
Yes that's fine. My doctor has prescribed them to me (along with a few others) to take for the next few months. All together.
Perhaps besides the obvious answer: (Go to a doctor and ask for ambien because you are having trouble falling asleep.) Ask yourself; why you need to ask such a question in the first place?
You should try and wait a few hours after having a drink or two. However if your drinking is excessive I would consider not taking without a considerable delay (10+ hours) to avoid undesirable side effects.
Contrary to what's written below, I've used Ambien (not the CR version) as medically prescribed for a number of months now. I have some small trouble taking pills/capsules, and intentionally crushed some of my dosages. I've noticed no problems when I've done this...no benefits nor drawbacks either. I've never tried "snorting" ANY drug, and couldn't possibly advise it. I WOULD advise consulting your physician prior to trying crushing and taking this drug yourself, and accept NO RESPONSIBILITY for those trying this otherwise.

You can crush and swallow ambien to no ill effect. The action of the drug may be somewhat faster. The pill dissolves within 90 seconds after you swallow it, anyway. Crushing Ambien CR is contraindicated as it is a time release (and expensive) medicine.
The short answer: absolutely not, nor a 'narcotic' per say. Its intended for use as a sleep aid, not a pain killer. Also, morphine and codeine are much different. Morphine is significantly stronger that plain codeine.
Info from Drugs.com:
FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether zolpidem is harmful to an unborn baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Depends whether the person in question has had either before, if they are experienced with them then i would say yes, but only a small amount of ambien
Sadly I've been down this road. MDMA, which has the side effect of insomnia and Ambien, which is a light sedative, do not go together AT ALL. They counteract each other and you wind up sweating or feeling/looking flushed and weak.
Discuss this with your pharmacist, but there shouldn't be any problem.
I don't know if the above person has ever mixed the two, But I don't think they have and I did once I had oral surgery couldn't sleep and couldn't smoke so I slapped a patch on and popped an ambien or ambien CR depending on my needs for the night. Gave me some hellacious dreams that two, tree years later I'm still trying to not remember. please consult with doctor or pharmacist better suited to any of our questions
Easy answer is - DON'T!
Talk to your doctor/physician if you have sleeping difficulties. Period.
The recommended dosage for Ambien is 10mg. You should talk to your doctor before increasing any medication's recommended dosage.
It can be done with a very sharp cutting instrument. =)
...but yes, it will still be effective as a sleeping aide if you're using half. Since this is a very strong medicine and can be addictive, I cut it in half for my wife and also give her one pill of Melatonin 10MG as a side supplement. There is no drug in Melatonin...it's a substance that's found naturally in your body near and at the time when you fall asleep. It's working really well for her insomnia. The Melatonin helps her fall into a deep sleep, and Zolpidem helps keep her sleeping like that. She wakes up refresh without feeling any side effects from Zolpidem.
When you stay up on ambien you're unbeliebeabbly tired, but you dont really care or notice it.
You cant work with technoligy well, and you cant think properly.
Most of the time you cant walk sraight, yet you think you are.
you think objects are people
its fun, look up videos on youtue that would be trippy.
yeah
According to my husband's doctor Ambien can be highly addicting in some people. Also according to my doctor some people can sleep walk really badly, including sometimes going out of their house and driving their car in their sleep. So I chose not to take it.
