Badminton rackets have become lighter and lighter with advancements in technology. Elastic particles combined with carbon fibers create a more flexible frame, allowing a player to swing faster and deliver more power. Other rackets apply focusing weight at the two and 10 o'clock portions of the frame as well as the base of the handle to add stability.
Some rackets have placed the strings closer together to create a wider sweet spot which increases shot power, even for mistimed shots. Strings made with high elasticity create a greater rebound effect and resist deformation and stretching, which prolongs string life.
Grommets, the holes in the frame which the string goes through, can tear or pop out, which affects the integrity of the racket. Some rackets now use shock-less grommets, which reduces grommet wear and tear. Some rackets do not have grommets. Instead, they have two separate halves interlocked together to form string channels, which provides a stiffer racket and torsional strength.

It is the 12" mark at the 1/2-way point of the baseline used to distinguish 2 halves (and service boxes) of a tennis court; short mark that bisects baseline.
It is similar to tennis but in some case, it have the same representation level like throwing the shuttlecock or ball through racket. But both the games have different rules.
In badminton you can be penalised on the serve. When serving you can be penalised for not having both feet on the ground, having a foot on the line having the racquet above waist height and double swinging. Hope i helped. :)

Malaysia's Islamic background makes some people think that it's going to be boring or dangerous. It's far from true, Malaysia is a save country for anyone to travel, people are extremely friendly, natural disasters and storms only seem to happen across the border and the multi-ethnic population gets along well. In short Malaysians are very laid back, warm and friendly.
To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia, A bubbling, bustling melting pot of races and religions where Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony. There are so many thinks to see and do in Malaysia; Why not take a leisurely walk around Penang where wafts of Chinese incense blend with sour durian while Bollywood tunes blast from an Indian shop. After that visit the Cameron Highlands where you can visit colonial tea plantations in the cool air of the highlands; or, on the Seribuat Archipelago, off the east coast of Johor, snorkel through coral gardens and lounge on a beautiful beach. For more adventure head to Taman Negara and track elephants, or how about the adventure to experience the depths of Sarawak and Sabah in the mythical Borneo the second biggest rain forest in the world where you can see wild orang-utans and climb massive Mt Kinabalu south east Asia's 5th highest mountain? Boring? I don't think so.
Malaysia is located against the Straits of Melaka, protected, against swells and tsunamis, this part of the peninsula has welcomed foreign visitors since the days of early traders. Such a convenient shipping route has, over the centuries, created a cosmopolitan culture that is well-schooled in English.
One of Malaysia's key attractions is its extreme contrasts. Towering skyscrapers look down upon wooden houses built on stilts, and five-star hotels sit several meters away from ancient reefs. A fascinating fusion of tradition and modernity, Malaysia's architecture today is a reflection of Asia's many styles, cultures and religions. These influences include Hindu-Indian, Arab-Muslim, Chinese and European. Portuguese, Dutch and British colonization have also influenced local architecture. Now, the country embraces an independent modern Malaysian vision whilst staying true to its rich culture and heritage.
For the perfect holiday full of surprises, eclectic cultures and natural wonders, the time is now, the place is Malaysia.
it is always good in badminton to say simple things like well done and unlucky, it is called court etiquacy. Also it is good to say sorry when you smash if the shot hit their body. At the end of the match it is considered bad sportsmanship to not shake hands with your opponent. You should shake hands and congratulate him. hope his helps!!! qwerty-man

Although the game of badminton has existed in many different incarnations since the days of Ancient Greece, today's game derives from the western past-time of Battledore and Shuttlecock. It eventually developed into its present incarnation and was definitively launched in 1873 at badminton house, home of the Duke of Beaufort.
If you mean line judges, if they point at the line that means the shot is in, if they spread their hands out, the shot went out. If you still have a question, ask away.
Badminton first appeared as a non-medal sport at the 1972 Games in Munich.
It was not played again for 20 years until, at the 1992 Games in Barcelona, badminton debuted as a medal sport and has been included in Olympic sport ever since.

there are two ways as of now, old scoring system (service point??) and new scoring system (rally point), which is just introduced last year and now it's approved by the IBF. Using the old scoring system, you get a point only if your side serves and wins the rally. You have two serving chance (first/second serve) except when the game begins. The new scoring system, you get a point regardless your side serves or not. And there is no second serve. You only serve once. You can google with "Laws of Badminton" and it will give you more details.
Lin Dan is using the AT700 ( Armortec700 ) with athlete tape on the top ( 10 - 2 o'clock ) of the frame, to resist from paint chipping or scratches and also to make his racket more head-heavy
