They are omnivorous meaning they eat all things (plants and animals)
A yellow back turtle or yellow-bellied slider is an aquatic terrapin which has evolved to live in warm waters. There is no definitive way in determining how old it is and the rings on its shell are not conclusive in gauging its years of age.
you dress up as a guy turtle or you can just bribe it towards u
It takes about 3 months, but don't get discouraged. They will hatch.
They have five (5) toes on their front legs and four (4) toes on their back legs.
Yes, I have two eastern box turtles and two Russian tortoise's that live in the same enclosure.
Box turtles are omnivores. They will eat almost anything, but just because they like it does not mean they should have it. A good rule of thumb when feeding box turtles is to give them only the kinds of things they would find in the wild. They may enjoy dairy products but they are not part of a turtle's natural diet.
I have two females. The lay eggs about two times a year
sure but they should be the same sex unless you want more tortoises
Bananas {occasionally only} apples melonberries{blueberries and stuff} RASPBERRIES-i dont know about your turtle, but that has been a BIT TIME favortie for mine, they LOVE raspberries! A Full Habitat Costs About 75-100 dollars and they can live outside but during the colder seasons bring them in and put them under a UV light.

The male's eyes are bright red. The female's eyes are reddish brown. Also the male's tails are longer than the female's. The female box turtle also has orange markings on her body and the male has yellow his body.
If it is a boy the bottom of its shell will be concaved and if it is a girl it will be flat.
Answer: Yes. If it is dead, they will eat it and if not, they will pick it up, fly way up high and let it fall to either break open the shell, or kill it so they can get into it.
No. technically, tarapins are land creatures and turtles live in a water environment (i.e. loggerhead turtles, snapping turtles)
Usually at my location turtles cost 20-$25 but hamsters or mouses cost 6 to 7 dolllars
Captive turtles should not be released into the wild. Not only are they unaccustomed to finding food for themselves, they can also get sick from being exposed to germs that wild turtles carry, or, they can spread their own germs to the wild turtles, and kill off the wild population.
Try putting an ad in the paper, or in local pet shops, advertising that your turtle is up for adoption. You can also try contacting local zoos; some of them have petting zoos or zoo classes for children which they need turtles for.
They can make wonderful pets. Most of them bite so I wouldn't reccamend them to people with small children or anybody who will want to hold them, but they are really fun to watch!!! Not to mention hey are absolutely adorable They make great pets. They're easy to take of too. Give them food twice a day, change the tank water twice a week, and give them a diffrent peice of lettuce everyday. You can find the turtles free, but the tank is about 200 $.

A turtle's shell is made up of bone and is part of its skeleton. If the shell were cracked, it would be similar to a human having a whole bunch of broken ribs, or worse. It would expose the turtle to infection, as well, because the bone is outside the body. It would be horribly painful, a major vulnerability, and take a long time to heal if it was survivable. Whether the turtle would survive would probably depend on how bad the injury was.
If you see a turtle with an injury, try to find a wildlife rehabilitation facility. A veterinarian can give the turtle treatment for the injured shell, allowing it to heal properly, similar to a cast for a broken bone.
