Did De or dey caste belongs to Brahmin?
Dey/Day/De is Brahmin and comes in Chourasia Pandit. But most of them write neither Pandit nor Chourasia. They are basically from Kolcuta metro city whih has been capital of India before 1912 CE. Me seems they have no interest in Indian caste system the reason may be a large number of surnames/castes come in low caste in one State and the same in high caste in another State within a country.

Which caste do vishwakarma belong to?
Viswakarma is a caste of priests, engineers, architects, sculptors, temple builders and artists and includes the 5 artisan/artificier groups of Sculptors, Carpenters, Goldsmiths, Blacksmiths and Bronzesmiths. In ancient India they were the builders of Temples, Palaces, Forts, Houses, etc. They were held high in the society and like Brahmins wore the sacred thread and followed Hindu scriptures.
