May you tell me about Cleopatra?
ok. Her parents were Cleopatra V and Ptolemy Auletes. Her mother was Egyptian, and her Father was Macedonian. Cleopatra was the third child out of six. Tryphaeana was the oldest, she was strangled in her sleep after taking the throne and threatening Cleopatra and her Father, who were in exile. The second oldest, Berenice, took the throne after her older sister was killed. She ruled for about one or two years before her Father orded her head to be cut off. Then Cleopatra and her Father came back to Egypt, with the assistance of Ceasar. Later, in 51 B.C, her Father died. All of this happened, and the other four young ones were with their sisters in the palace. (Cleopatras Mom died right after she was born.) The fourth child was Arsinoe. The fifth: Ptolemy XIII. Sixth: Ptolemy XIV. When Cleopatras' Father died, she had to marry her brother Ptolemy XIII. He was only twelve at the time, so she ruled as she wished. Then her brother hired some advisors, who wanted Cleopatra dead, so he could rule and the advisors would be powerful and wealthy. Cleopatra heard of this, and fled to Rome, gaining the help of Ceasar. Ceasar went to Egypt to try to talk to Ptolemy, but Ptolemy was stubborn. So eventually they had a war. Before they had a war, Cleopatra had traveled back to Egypt behind Ceasar. One day, she went to see him. Because Ptolemys' guards were everywhere, she had a servant smuggle her in to Ceasar in a rug. When she appeared out of the rug, Ceasar was charmed. So began their love. The war was hardly a war, because Ptolemy XIII drowned in the Nile because of his heavy armour. Later, Cleopatra and Ceasar traveled down the Nile, and she became pregnant. Her child was named Ceasarion, meaning Little Ceasar. While Cleopatra and Ceasar were in Egypt, Rome had been getting restless, they didn't like Cleopatra. THey thought she was a witch. So when Ceasar returned with Cleopatra and Ceasarion, his friends planned a way to murder him. On March 15th, or "The Ides of March" Ceasar was summoned to meet his friends, they were going to announce him the King of Rome. Ceasars other wife, Octavia,(Octavians sister)begged him not to go. She had had a dream that night that Ceasar was to be killed. He ignored her, and on the way, he met a soothsayer who warned him to beware the Ides of March. Of course, as soon as he stepped in the door to where his friends were, they killed him. Cleopatra, worried for her and her babys life, fled Rome. Since my hands are cramping, I can't write much more....but i will try. She then met Marc Antony, the last love of her life. They had 3 children toghether:Alexander Helios and Cleopatra Selene (twins who were named after the Roman Sun and Moon gods) and the little one named Ptolemy Philadelphius. Octavian declared war on Cleopatra, and won. Cleopatra commited suicide with an asp to the chest, after Marc Antony died in her arms because he stabbed a sword in his chest. (He had thought she was dead.) Cleopatra had tried to send her children some place safely in hiding, but no luck. They were sent to Octavia, and the only one to survive was Cleopatra Selene....the others apparently were murdered.....hope this answers your question!!
