There is currently no fourth-edition D&D game for any system and there has been no announcements of plans to do so.

Is dungeons and dragons a board game?

It can be. The fourth edition (the most recent at the time this answer was written) is designed to be played with miniature figurines on a grid in the center of the table, while everything else happens on paper or in your imagination. Prior editions offered the ability to play on a board like that, but it was written and intended to be played out in the imaginations of the players.

How much does in average it cost to get all of the equipment for dungeons and dragons?

This depends on whether you are interested in a narrative / story heavy game, a miniatures campaign only, or a mixture of the two.

The games I've played were about 90% narrative, 10% miniatures.

The miniatures and maps were purely for the sake of keeping things straight during battle and while navigating through cities and countryside...

If you go in on the investment with friends, and have each person buy the character they want to represent themselves, it shouldn't cost more than about $20 per person.

1 - You don't need your own book, sharing is caring...

2 - Use your imagination to create maps and campaigns - save money from books and dungeon tiles. they are cool, so maybe once you get further into it and everyone is clearly committed it might not be such a painful investment..

So, in estimation:

Core Rulebook: $20-30 (can share, or one per person)

DM Book: $20-30 (only need one)

Mini fig: $.50-$5 (at least 1 per person, and a few misc to represent enemies, they don't have to be elaborate)

Photocopies of Character Sheets: $.50?

Can you play 4 players in dungeons and dragons shadow over mystara?

Yes. If using the latest version of MAME on Windows, you can press F2 during gameplay to access a special menu. In this menu you can change game configuration options. I forget the exact way to get there (I think it's something like Game -> Configuration). The option you want to choose is 4 Players 4 Chutes Multi.

Can Dungeons and Dragons be dangerous?

I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for almost 6 years now, being both a player, a Dungeon Master, and, at times, both! It isn't a game that is harmful in anyway. Everyone hears about the crazy few who take things to an unreasonable level, but there are millions upon millions of others who can play it normally. the media loves to glamorize and place spot lights on the negative aspects of everything and anything. Dungeons and Dragons is truly a game that helps build self-confidence, Social skills, eloquency, and tickles the imagination, it's a way to escape the boring, menial task of day-to-day life and live in an adventure world for a few hours! I highly recommend finding people who play and sitting in on one of their sessions. I've found it truly helps clear up any concerns people may have about it. Good luck to you!

How do you roll up your character in Dungeons and Dragons?

To 'roll up' a character means using a computer program or table to roll traits, skills, features and details of characters with a dice or other algorithm, which is only in World of Warcraft and other games, not DnD. In DnD (Dungeons and Dragons) to create a character you have to follow the steps in the Players handbook. If you don't have it, in each edition there are different steps, so you may have to search them up in the dnd wiki.

What does each alignment mean in Dungeons and Dragons?

There are 5 basic elements to Alignment

Lawful: Using law as a moral compass... obeying the law, respecting order.

Chaotic: Disregarding law as your moral compass. Only respecting it when it makes sense to you.

Neutral: Believing in balance between either Law and Chaos (as in Neutral Good) or between Good and Evil (as in Lawful Neutral). You don't favor one side over the other but believe that both sides should be kept in balance.

Good: Doing what is right, and what will help people and benefit society

Evil: Doing what is wrong/selfish... what will benefit you without regard for others.

Here are the alignment combinations that are possible:

Lawful Good: You are devoted both to law and order and to good. A character with this alignment might struggle with a good action that was against the law.

Lawful Neutral: You are devoted to obeying the law and trying to maintain a balance between good and evil, but order comes first.

Lawful Evil: You are both evil and follow the rules. you may try to destroy an empire but you do it wisely, without compromising order or getting yourself in trouble with the law. This character might buy and sell slaves if it were legal in order to profit.

Neutral Good: You believe that a balance between order and chaos is important, but that devotion to good is of primary importance. You might disobey a law if it served the greater good, but not always.

True Neutral: You believe in balance. Law and Chaos and Good and Evil must all be taken with moderation, and you are interested in maintaining this balance, never favoring one side over the other.

Neutral Evil: You believe in a balance between Law and Chaos, but selfishness and your personal profit are your guiding star within that balance.

Chaotic Good: You follow your conscience. you choose what is right and you carry it out whether or not it has anything to do with the law.

Chaotic Neutral: Your character follows his or her own path, disregarding law and not favoring good or evil. This is usually the most unpredictable alignment. A chaotic neutral character might suddenly run at someone and you can't be sure if they are going to attack them or hug them.

Chaotic Evil: You do whatever will benefit you, regardless of the law.

No, half-fiends are formed from a union between a fiend and a humanoid. A fiend cannot reproduce with an Outsider such as an angel, and the union between a half-celestial humanoid and a fiend will simply produce a half-fiend.

The current publisher of the Dungeons and Dragons game is "Wizards of the Coast", a subsidiary of Hasbro.

The original publisher was "TSR", until that company went out of business in the late 1980s.

How do you attack in dungeons and dragons?

It depends on the edition. Since I doubt it is first or second we can ignore the ThAC0 system... I'm going to go over 3.5e since it is the one I'm most familiar with.

Melee attack:

You take your to hit bonus (determined by class), strength bonus (not strength amount but strength bonus), and any other misc modifier. These could include class specials or a weapon being +x (where x is the total you add to your to hit). Masterwork weapons also add a +1 to hit, but this is not stackable with a magic weapon's bonus (i.e. a +1 dagger has a +1 to hit even though it is also masterwork). You then roll a d20, add the to hit bonus, and that's your total attack. If it equals or surpasses your opponent's armor class then you hit.

For damage you add your strength bonus and other misc modifiers. Masterwork weapons do -not- add to damage, but a +x weapon adds x to the damage. Then you roll the weapon's damage and add the bonuses. Some magic weapons will allow you to do special damage, such as adding another 1d6 of fire damage, which is all added into the equation. If a monster is resistant to a specific kind of damage than you have to make sure all types of damage are kept track of separately (because the monster could resist some of the damage but not other parts).

Ranged attack:

Add to hit bonus, dexterity bonus, and any other misc modifier. Roll the die, add the total, and it again has to equal or surpass the opponent's armor class.

For damage you roll the weapon's damage plus misc modifiers. If it is a strength bow (I think called great bow, but not sure. Look at the bow's description) you can add your strength bonus up to the bow's amount.

Thrown weapons:

These ones are a bit more odd. A thrown weapon uses ranged weapon rules for the to hit, but melee weapon rules for damage.

You also need to be familiar with critical fumbles and hits. A critical fumble happens when you roll a natural 1, while critical hit happens on a natural 20. A natural roll means whatever the die rolled without any bonuses, sometimes also called "nat". A nat 1 is an automatic miss while a nat 20 is an automatic hit. There are more rules with critical hits that are beyond the scope of this question, but you need to be sure you understand critical hits.

Where can you find a dungeons and dragons boardgame template?

The Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game is not played on a board. This is a common misconception. As a role-playing game, D&D is actually played with nothing more than a couple rulebooks, pencils and paper, some polyhedral dice, and your wit, imagination, and sense of adventure.

Not only do hobby and gaming stores carry fourth edition D&D resources, but I can almost guarantee that your local chain bookstore (Barnes & Nobel, Borders, Waldenbooks, etc.) will have at least the basic books in stock.

To start, you'll want the Player's Handbook. Someone in your group will need to run the game and be referee ("Dungeon Master" or "DM"), and that person will need the Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Manual, as well.

Generally, a store that carries one of these books will also carry the other two, or at the very least will be able to order them for you.

The books generally go at about $40 a piece these days, unfortunately. I would suggest looking for a box set of the three. You'll find them both used and unused online for cheaper than in most stores.

I also suggest checking out Wikipedia's article on the game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_and_dragons). It might help you better grasp the game's concept and design.

May your sword stay sharp!

What is the point of dungeons and dragons the board game?

It is not exactly a board game. Basically one person tells a story, while all the other players are the main characters in the story. They get to do pretty much whatever they want to, but may have to roll dice sometimes to see if they can actually do it.

What dungeons and dragons alignment would an INTP be?

INTP is part of the Meyers Briggs temperament system. This system measures a person's temperament. Only the last letter resembles anything like alignment. INTP means Introverted, intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving. The opposite is ESFJ which means Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging. Within the game system of D&D the E-I pole would affect charisma. Extroverted means higher charisma. I is likely to be lower. The N-S pole and the T-F poles would affect intelligence. I think NT would be high intelligence. The P-J pole might affect alignment. P would mean more chaotic. J would mean more lawful. So INTP would be more likely for a chaotic character with high intelligence and low charisma all other things being equal.
