What do you need to build a helicopter?
You need a design for a helicopter. That design will tell you what materials you need...because every heli has different materials in it. The things you need to build a Robinson R-22 are different from the things you need to build a Sikorsky CH-53E.
Though an Autogryro may resemble a Helicopter, they work differently. A helicopter uses a powered shaft to turn it's wings, which are called rotors. These rotors provide lift for the craft and also give the helicopter it's momentum through air.
The autogryro uses un-powered rotor blades for lift in what is called auto-rotation together with an airplane style propeller to provide the forward thrust. The combination of the propeller pushing the craft forward causes air to flow over the curved top surface of the rotor, which is spinning because of the air pushing up under it, and the air over the top of the rotor produces the lift.
Who was the first person the made helicopter?
No one can truly know. It's a mystery. There are records of all sorts of things. But the first full flight, read all about it is a ............ Tie? Why don't helicopters hane no need of run way to take off?
Because all they need is their main rudder to spin fast enough to get the helicopter off the ground. They need only enough room to spin the rudder and for the helicopter to fit in a space. They don't need to go forward fast to lift off, unlike planes and shuttles.
