How do you say lifeguard in French?
a lifeguard is called "un sauveteur" in French. That noun is correct for mountain rescuers or members of sailing or swimming safety schemes.
Lifeguards participating in the beach surveillance system (or in swimming pools) are also called "nageurs-sauveteurs" sometimes "maîtres-nageurs-sauveteurs" abbreviated in MNS (correctly used when they have a diploma enabling them to teach how to swim)
Unfortunately you can't and you cant for several reasons. Firstly to lifeguard in most provinces you need to be 16 and over. Secondly the Prerequisites are: 16 years old, Bronze Cross (need not be current), and current Standard First Aid Certification. If you didn't already go and get your standard first aid it is typically a two day course . And for your NLS make sure your spinals are to standard (eggbeater, stable rollover, ect). Hope this was helpful . NLS instructor
