The Development company had to work on the new PS Vita LittleBigPlanet game and that will not even be released until September 25, 2012. There is also LittleBigPlanet Karting for November 6, 2012 release. Neither of these games can be considered a LBP 3 even if some may call the LBP Karting by that name.

Little Big Planet is like every other game just released. Even if they plan a next edition they will not announce it for quite a while and many planned releases are eventually cancelled. In the case of Little Big Planet they are still making money selling add ons to the first two games and the estimate of a Long Long Time is accurate for the release of LBP3.

LBP 3 will probably be out in a year and a half. That was the gap between LBP 1 and 2 so it's probably a decent guess.

I am afraid that Little Big Planet is only compatible for the PlayStation 3, as the disc is Blu-Ray, and only the PlayStation 3 supports Blu-Ray. Also, there are no upcoming plans for Little Big Planet to come to the PlayStation 2.

Mine activated when I downloaded them while the game disc was in the PS3. You could put in your game disc and go to your downloads at the Playstation store and see if that works for you
