Do only Catholics celebrate the 7 sacraments?
The Orthodox Church also celebrates the seven sacraments. Some Protestant denominations celebrate some of the sacraments but not all seven.
In the Catholic Church there is nothing like the adoration of the Virgin Mary. But there is the Veneration of the Virgin Mary. Veneration is similar to honor and adoration is similar to worship. In looking at the Catholic Church, a familiarity with the meaning of each word used is very helpful. Mary is honored because she said Yes to God, which nullified Eve's No.
Another Answer!
I totally agree, wonderfully put. Catholics admire mary, and ask her to pray for us, just like anyone asks anyone to pray for them. Therefore we are not "praying" to mary, but asking her to pray for us!:)
AMEN!
Another Answer
though it may seem that we Catholics pray to Mary as we pray to God, it is only that we see her as the holy mother of God.there for we give her praise and ask her to pray that our sin be cleansed and that we are watch over us and our family.
Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
the lord is with thee.
blessed are you among all women
blessed is the fruit of thy womb
hail Mary virgin mother of God
pray for us sinners
now and in the hour of our death
amen
Additional Clarification
Great answers above! :)
Indeed, it has always been a common practice in the Christian community for one Christian to ask another to pray for him or her. Many examples of this can be found throughout Scripture as well as throughout the earliest years of the Church; e.g. pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful. James 5:16 NAB
Indeed, saints and theologians over the millenia have pointed out that our love in Christ which binds us to the righteous who have gone before us is greater than the bonds of death that would separate us from them. It is for this reason that St. Paul speaks of a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us that help us keep our focus on Christ: Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1 NAB
In particular, the Blessed Virgin is pre-eminent among this cloud of witnesses in keeping us focused Christ, as she always reminds every servant of Christ: "Do whatever he tells you." John 2:5 NAB
Moreover, as the first writer above indicates, it is very important to have a familiarity, or basic working knowledge of some of the terms used in Catholic theology. In this case, it is important to distinguish among
Latria is worship proper to, and due to God alone. As the Blessed Sacrament is the Real Presence of Christ, who is the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, latria is what is offered during the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. It also includes all other prayers directed to, or intended for, God.
Dulia is the veneration or honor we give to saints and angels, as they are made in God's image and likeness, reflect his glory, and draw us closer to God. We honor them by following Christ in the ways they followed Christ. As St. Paul says
Hyperdulia is a special veneration or honor set aside for the Blessed Virgin Mary, to indicate her preeminence among the saints and angels. Some of the best ways to imitate Mary and venerate her are by

How many religions have the seven sacraments?
Most Christian religions recognize sacraments but not all recognize the same sacraments. The only Christian faiths that recognize sacraments are the following:
The Roman Catholic Church, The Orthodox Christians, the Anglican Church including the Episcopal Church, all branches of Lutheranism, all branches of the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian and Reform Churches, the United Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ.
The Baptist Churches including both the American & Southern Baptist churches do not recognize or celebrate the sacraments. The Mormons and all the Pentecostal and fundamentalist churches, like the Assembly of God also do not recognize any sacraments.
Answer 1
Not only "Can perverts go to hell?", but perverts will go to hell unless they come to the Lord Jesus Christ and change their ways. Being perverted is sin. It is to turn aside from the right way.
Answer 2
While nobody condones a pervert's activities, whether or not they can go to Hell is contingent on whether or not Hell is a real place. If Hell does not exist, as many Atheists claim and Buddhists claim, then perverts cannot go there. If Hell does exist, then a pervert certainly can go there.
Catholic AnswerThere are several definitions of pervert, but they all refer to someone who leads others astray, or to deliberately misinterpret or distort something. Behavior that causes others to sin or go astray is called scandal in the Christian faith, and is the most serious kind of sin. Anyone who dies in a state of unforgiven sin indeed goes to hell, but anyone who repents and genuinely tries to lead a holy life in conformity with God's Will will go to heaven. In Catholic moral teaching, pervert refers to someone who willfully leads a socially degenerate life, especially in sexual behavior. Again, unforgiven, and unrepented will lead this person to hell, but there is always hope if one places one's faith in God and genuinely repents and turns their life around with the help of God and His Sacraments. What sacrament is the community celebrating the paschal mystery of jesus and makes it present?
Eucharist/Holy Communion
Why would a roman Catholic want the sacrament of the sick?
The annointing of the sick is a beautiful mass. You would want to go to this service if you feel that you are in need of God's help because you are undergoing surgery, you are sick and need His help, or you simply have a need for God's healing touch
What is the purpose of the Sacraments?
The Sacraments are visible signs instituted by Christ in order to transmit and confer grace on a willing soul. Thus, they are divine helps to aid the human soul on its journey through life, in order that the soul can become closer to God and participate in His divine life, and ultimately attain heaven.
What sacrament can any baptized catholic perform and when?
This is a great question. There's really two ways to interpret this, I'll answer both.
First, in the literal wording of your question, you said 'perform'. All of the sacraments can be 'performed' by any one person. For example, when a baby is being baptized, they are 'performing' Baptism. When a husband sacrifices something for their wife, they are 'performing' Matrimony. Sacraments are not so-much one-day things, but rather something a Catholic performs all their lives.
The other way to interpret this, and the one I suspect you meant is: What sacrament can be administered by any Catholic, lay or religious? The answer is only Baptism. Religious members of the Church can administer more sacraments than lay people (the common faithful). However, only in extreme end-of-life or dire situations can any baptized Catholic (even a lay person) administer baptism.
How can someone become a sacrament to others?
Technically, no, no one can become a sacrament. A sacrament is a ceremony, usually religious in form where one remembers the Saviour. One partakes of the Sacrament to remember His blood and body, and where a person renews their covenants which they have made.
No one can take the place of Christ.
Perhaps a better term would be Example
How do the Holy Sacraments connect?
Baptism: Baptism allows the reception of the other Sacraments because it makes us a member of the Church, the Body of Christ. It is connected to Confession and Extreme Unction (Anointing of the Sick) because it remits Sin, whether Venial or Mortal. Although, it is the only Sacrament that can remit Original Sin. Baptism is related to Confirmation because it imparts the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.
The Eucharist: The Eucharist is, in a way, to the Sacrament of Confession because it remits VENIAL SIN ONLY. The Eucharist is related to Extreme Unction because it is given as Viaticum (Latin word meaning "provisions for a journey").
Confirmation: Confirmation is related to Baptism and Holy Orders because it imparts an indelible mark on the soul. Confirmation is also related to Baptism because it gives the Seven Gifts of the Holy Ghost; therefore finishing the indwelling of the Holy Ghost started at Baptism.
The rest of the Sacraments aren't related in any way that I haven't previously mentioned.
How many sacraments do presbyterians celebrate?
Presbyterians celebrate two sacraments Baptism and Communion (also known as the Lord's supper). Baptism is for those who publicly profess faith in Jesus as adults, or for the children of believers. Communion may be celebrated as often as three or four times a year, although some congregations celebrate it monthly
How many sacraments did the pope allow to teach?
In the Catholic Church there are seven sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Penance, Eucharist, Marriage, Holy Orders and the Anointing of the sick.
How does receiving the sacraments help us pray?
The Sacrament as partaken of in most Christian churches, relates to the service of the taking of bread and water in remembrance of the Saviors sacrifice. As we partake of each symbol we remember in silent prayer to thank Christ for his atoning sacrifice. These prayers should help us to pray more often as we give thanks for all other blessings we have received from our Father in heaven. Prayer should be a daily ritual in our lives, for there is not anything that we have which has not been given by the Father.
Can a Roman Catholic receive sacraments after marrying an Anglican divorcee?
A person can receive the sacraments if they are free of mortal sin. This may include acting out a marriage that is invalid. A valid marriage of a Catholic is only through the Catholic church. [Note: 2 baptized persons who have never been Roman Catholic, can be validly married.] During the pre-cana process, the church will investigate all impediments (like prior divorces) and sort through them to either approve or deny an impending marriage. The Annullment process for example may be necessitated. If a Catholic is married outside the church (regardless of the spouses religion or marital status) they cannot receive the sacraments. Also, if a person is married to another person who is validly married, then those two persons are committing adultry, which is a mortal sin.
Martin Luther believed that the only holy sacraments were babtism and the eucharists?
Lutherans are not dogmatic about the number of sacraments. Baptism and Holy Communion are sacraments within the Lutheran Church. Confession and Absolution is also often referred to as a sacrament.
Why is the blessed sacrament covered during a catholic mass?
It is during the offering up in the Catholic Mass by the priest that the bread and wine are consecrated with the repeated words of Jesus Christ at the Last Supper,"This is My Body; This is My Blood" thereby making Jesus Christ present on the altar Body,Blood Soul and Divinity in the consecrated hosts and the Chalice filled with now consecrated wine which is the Blood of Christ. The "reserved Eucharist" you speak of is the consecrated species from other Masses offered by the priest. The Church always has extra consecrated host (not wine) in the Tabernacle saved for the sick and in the event there are more in attendance at the specific Mass then the priest has consecrated. Because the species in the tabernacle is already the Body and Blood of Christ and in respect to what already" is" and what is "about to be" consecrated, the Eucharist (Blessed Sacrament) is covered and held in a secure place called the Tabernacle.
What are the important sacraments?
Eucharist, confirmation, communion, Baptism and Sacrament of the sick
Roman Catholic AnswerBy definition, all the sacraments of the Church are important, as they are all means of grace that Our Blessed Lord as left us. The most important is, of course, the Blessed Eucharist, which is the actual Body and Blood of Our Blessed Lord.
