Just to point: Sandy is not a real person. Though he is Windy, Julian, Sam, and Barney, only one is real. That one is Windy Windkloppel. How is this inferred?: In earlier chapters, Grace Windsor [Later changed from Windkloppel] Wexler said she was the only true heir to the Westing Mansion, she was related to Westing. But, her maiden name is Winsor, not Westing.

So, Windkloppel was the only real person out of the following: McSouthers, Northrup, Westing, and Eastman. (Please note: North, South, East, West.)

No one knew she was seeing "Sandy" after his "death" as Sandy, but Julian R. Eastman was still alive which concludes that Sam Westing was also living at the time. At the very end, Turtle tries to start Sam's cycle all over again, by becoming her own Sam Westing, master of chess and owner of Westing Paper Products.

Sam is their uncle and great uncle, respectively. Berthe Erica Crow was Sam Westing's former wife. Alexander "Sandy" McSouthers and Sam Westing are both one in the same person. All other heirs have no biological relationship with Sam Westing at all, but merely had touched Sam Westing's life in the past directly and/or indirectly one way or another.

It involves chess because Sam Westing plays it and so do many people. J. J. Ford played it and always lost to him. in the story Theo is playing chess with someone at the Westing estate and he doesn't who it is. Later on Doug says that Sandy McSouthers (doorman) was moving the pieces. The whole Westing Game is a game of chess.

Grace Wexler was portrayed as selfish in "The One and Only Ivan" because she was primarily focused on maintaining her status and wealth, often disregarding the well-being of others, including Ivan the gorilla. She prioritized her own needs and desires over those of the animals in her care.

In The Westing Game (Chapter 20) Doug is skipping class to follow Ots Amber. They go between the shopping center and Sunset Towers, then to a rooming house. Otis doesn't come out for hours, and then he goes back to Sunset Towers. Of course Doug's been jogging the whole time, and is grateful for his father's paper insoles, which really seem to work. At the hospital, Theo's being bandaged after accidentally causing an explosion in the chemistry lab. The bomb squad detective wonders if he set the bomb in his parents' restaurant. Theo denies it, plus he has an idea for who the third bombing was.

Well, honey, Turtle from "The Westing Game" wasn't messing around. If anyone dared to touch her braid without permission, she would straight-up bite them. Yep, you heard me right. Turtle wasn't about to let anyone mess with her hair or her personal space. So, hands off the braid unless you want a surprise nibble!
