Hey, you might be from yc cause of our book report but i hope this works anyway.
During a pause Menelaus and Paris get in a fight. Aphrodite then took Paris in a could and took him back to Troy. Menelaus was angry and went through the Trojan ranks seeking Paris, and not a man there but would have helped him for they all hated Paris, but h was gone, no one knew how or where. So Agamemnon spoke to both armies, declaring that Menelaus was victor and bidding that the Trojans give Helen back. This was just, and the Trojans would have agreed if Athena, at Hera's prompting , has not interfered. Hera was determined that the war should not end until Troy was ruined. Athena , sweeping down to the battlefield, persuaded the foolish hear of Pandarus, a Trojan, to break the truce and shoot an arrow at Menelaus. He did wso and wounded him, only slightly, but the Greeks in reage at the Treachery turned upon the Trojans and the battle was on again.
Hope this helps. From the book Mythology by Edith Hamilton,pg 192
Why did the Trojan War last ten years?
The best guess we can make from the very imperfect sources is that the Achaians (Greeks) made a series of piratical raids in the east of the Aegean Sea. The legendary sources say that an initial attempt was made on Troy but failed. They then pillaged the islands and coast of Asia Minor, returning in the tenth year to Troy when there was nothing else to loot elsewhere. The second attack was successful.

They think that they may have found the site on which the city was built, but this is just an estimated area, as there were several cities built on top.<br>However, if the war was a real one, then it is assumed that inter-Greece warring would still continue on for centuries as is what happened anyways.
Why did the Trojan war last for 9 years?
the Trojan war lasted for 10 years not 9 when the Greeks created the Trojan horse
What were the consequences of the Trojan war?
The Greeks looted the coast and islands for ten years, finally capturing and destroying the rich city of Troy. The area was subsequently settled by Greek cities established there by the mainland Greek cities to solve their overpopulation problems.
These daughter cities became the centre of problems between Persia and Greece when Persia included the cities of Asia Minor, the Islands and the Black Sea into its empire and the mainland Greek mother cities started to assist their revolts against Persian rule.
What effect did the Trojan War have on society as a whole?
None. The world went on after this insignificant blip. But it became a great story for the bards to sing about and make a living from, and in a pre-television age, their performances were great entertainment.
What were major events of Trojan war?
The best guess from the poor evidence we have is:
1. Greek fleet from the cities which participated arrived at western Asia Minor.
2. An attempt on Troy failed.
3. For ten years the coast and islands were pillaged.
4. In the tenth year another attempt on Troy succeeded and the city was looted and destroyed and the inhabitants enslaved.
The list is long. First you should read the epics - Iliad and Odyssey for the basic list. This gives mainly the heroes and aristocrats, but rarely mentions any of the mass of footsoldiers and lower class people. There are other later sources - if you want more, ask.
