Your either in a lot of pain or your liver is made of steel. I wouldn't recommend it, especially if your like me and enjoy your cocktails!

I was a medical Assistant for several years and I am a mother of 3 and grandmother of 2 and have spent much time at the doctors office due to various reasons including ear infections, coughs and colds, strep throat etc... and my children are now adults and obviously I still "care for" them when they are ill (they'll always be my babies :) On numerous occasions we have been instructed to alternate ibuprofen and Tylenol at the same time.....taking the ibuprofen every 6 hours and the Tylenol (even T3's) every 4 hours. This is safe because, although both medicines are pain relievers, they each contain a different medication that works in a different way. I hope this helps.

The Tylenol is much more toxic than the codeine in the medication. You would die from liver damage before you would die from lack of breathing/heart function and CNS (central nervous system) depression from the codeine. So, follow the protocol for Tylenol toxicity and maximum daily dosage. That is, no more than 4000mg, or 4 grams, of Tylenol when taking the medication short term. In extra strength Tylenol, this equates to 8 tablets. You should never take more than 1000mg, or 1 gram, (2 tablets of extra strength Tylenol) in a 4 hour period.

If you're taking the medication for chronic or long-term treatment (continuously for 2 weeks or more), 2500mg per day is the rule of thumb. Anything over that and you're at risk for liver damage. Alcohol consumption, of course, (as well as intake of several other substances) increases the likelihood of liver damage and lowers the threshold of the amount of Tylenol required to cause liver damage and failure.

Liver failure from Tylenol is not sudden nor immediate. It happens slowly and often unnoticeably before it's too late. I don't think I need to say that getting a liver transplant for a liver that you damaged yourself and avoidably so is very difficult as "supplies" are limited and reserved for those who have a failing liver though no fault of their own.

Yes, you can. Tylenol 3 is acetaminophen and codeine, and Advil is ibuprofen, they do not interact, and a combination of both is often used, even in hospital. Just be sensible about the amount you are taking, often the best way to take both is to take the Tylenol 3, wait 2 to 4 hours, then take a dose of Advil. DO NOT take more of either medication than is indicated on the label.

to take anything with tylenol3 would be foolhardy unless you are looking for a terrific stomach ache!

Follow the directions on the bottle. It's different for adults and kids. Also, don't take Tylenol, which is acetaminophen, with other acetaminophen products. You can exceed the daily recommended limits and cause liver damage. Use of Tylenol with other pain relievers (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen sodium, ketoprofen or prescription pain relievers) is not recommended, unless directed by your doctor.

NEVER EVER give a baby Tylenol 3 these are highly poisonous for any child let a lone a baby!!!!!! If the child is restless or cannot sleep a soothing rocking and a warm bottle of milk will help, but certainly NO DRUGS!!!!!

Yes, it can - permanently, meaning it can kill a baby! Tylenol 3 has codeine (a narcotic) in it, so it is a compound drug, and can be FATAL to a baby, or even a young child. Also, many people, including adults, are allergic to codeine, which will only double the risk of serious harm to a baby.

I dont know but it may damage your liver. Thats 3 times the maximum dose of Extra stength Tylenol. One caplet is 500mg. If you are having to take that much for your pain relief you need to see a doctor to find an alternative or see if something more serious is going on.

I wouldn't take this drug period but it does not go well with Tylenol as well.

Had a mild seizure everytime i took Tylenol with it. Taking Lacmictal destroyed my life. It should not be approved by the fda.

According to a JAMA study done in 1998 Consumption of 325mg 4X a day while on 5mg. Wafarin Can raise your INR from A Normal 2-3 Range to over 6 (Dangerous) in just 5 days. Taking a couple here and there for a couple of days for Headache,colds etc. may raise your levels slightly but you should talk to your doc and maybe check your INR levels before continuing on any futher for any extended periods.

I am prescribed to adderall 20 mg 2x a day and Ive been given tylenol 3 and vicodin periodically for pain while being prescribed to adderall. I asked my doctor anyways because I am very careful about medicine and she said that it was fine. As far as for tmj pain? I can't see adderall being very good for that seeing as how it can make you clench your teeth without even realizing it and grinding them at night. Thats just my opinion but theres no danger with taking them together, it actually makes you have quite a nice feeling so becareful not to do it often and get addicted!

You should only take medicines as prescribed for you by a qualified medical practitioner (a doctor) - the doctor will know which drugs may be taken together.
