The stars are used for what the treasury calls "Replacement notes". No two bills can have the same serial number, so if a bill needs to be reprinted for any reason, a star is added so the serial number is different.

Some collectors like the star notes, because they're rarer than regular notes, but on something as recent as 2009 I wouldn't expect much of a premium. You could take it to a dealer for an estimate if you like, but unless it's in pristine condition, I'd expect that your twenty-dollar note is worth exactly twenty dollars.

Odds are that it's a replica. Check the serial number on it. If it's on this list, it's a known replica: 8470, 9825, 14077, 22462, 31680, 32515, 40674, 40679, 45447, 45951, 45956, 55411, 83185.

Only one series of 1977 $50 bills was printed so none have a series letter. Perhaps you're looking at the Federal Reserve District letter instead; "B" would indicate the bill was distributed through the New York district. If so, its retail value as of 01/2016 is about $55 in average condition and $65 if uncirculated.

F2 is most likely a plate position indicator. Multiple bills are printed at the same time on large sheets of paper and then cut apart to make individual notes. The position indicator tells the row and column where that particular bill was located.

That most closely describes a 1914 $50 Federal Reserve Note. 1914 was the year the Panama Canal opened, and these bills show an allegorical figure representing Panama in the center and a battleship on one side.

What you have is a regular series 1995 $2 bill with an Easter Bunny sticker placed over the picture of Thomas Jefferson. As legal tender, it's worth $2. An interested collector might be willing to pay slightly more.

The U.S. has never printed a million dollar bill. Any you might find are novelties and aren't worth anything.

As of 2014 the Treasury has no plans to redesign the $2 bill, mostly because it wouldn't be cost-effective. The denomination makes up only about 1% of all bills in circulation and is hardly ever counterfeited.

If the $1 bill is eliminated and replaced with a $1 coin it's expected the use of $2 bills will increase. If that happens there may be a need to redesign the bill but at the current time that's nothing but speculation.

You probably meant to type "1928" because that's the last year $100 gold certificates were printed. Please see the Related Question for information about that date.

Before the 1990s US bills didn't have a lot of anti-counterfeiting features. A 1950 bill won't have a watermark, microprinting, value strip, the words In God We Trust, or color-shifting ink just to name a few things so don't even try to find them.

The best feature to look for would be the tiny red and blue fibers that are mixed into the paper when it's manufactured. Also, the teeth on the treasury seal will be very sharp and uniform in shape on a real bill. The engraving of Hamilton's picture will be crisp and clear as well.

Unlike many other countries, the US doesn't formally withdraw old bills when new designs are introduced. Old bills continue to circulate until they wear out. When banks receive a worn-out bill it's returned to the Treasury for destruction.

This is actually something banks sell at Christmastime for gift giving, so it's not rare or valuable. You may be able to find somebody that will give you a few dollars over the $100 face value, but don't expect much more.
