I have seen them sell for $500. They are sought after. But you can still find a cheap one once in a while. I picked one up for $180 Canadian a few months ago. The seller had it in his mind that because it's laminated it's not worth much. A good quality laminate is better than a poor or mediocre quality solid wood. Any luthier will tell you that. I have collected Yamahas for over 30 years I eventually end up selling them when i get too many or need cash. I have sold an FG140 for 550 but it was in almost mint shape. You can get 300 easily if it's playable. They were known for terrible string height (action) . Keep in mind too that there were 2 red labels. The rare one says 'Nippon Gakki' on it. They were nicknamed 'The Poor Man's Martin'. I had a buddy once that had a Martin D-18 and was always ragging on Japanese guitars so i challenged him to play my FG140 and his D-18 in the dark and tell me the difference. At first he swore i kept handing him the same guitar, but finally admitted it was a great guitar. So if you don't really need the money don't sell it

Unless it's crisp and uncirculated, it's only worth face value. If it's uncirculated and not folded, it could retail for as much as twice that amount.

There is no definite price on this type of bill. The value really depends on who is looking at it. Try many different shops if you are looking to sell it in order to get the best price.

The US issued $1000 bills from 1862 to 1934, so more information is needed. Please post a new question with the bill's date and whether there's a small letter next to the date. You don't need to copy the serial number, though.

Please check again. The US printed $2 bills dated 1953 and 1963, but not 1973. 1976 is the closest date.

1988-A $1 bills were produced by an experimental "web-fed" press so they're very slightly different from most other $1s, leading to the belief that they're worth more. However, so many were made and the differences are so slight that they sell for essentially the same amount as 1988 bills with no series letter: essentially no extra value in circulated condition, and $2 to $3 uncirculated.

Please check your bill again and post a new, separate question. There are no 1998-dated $100 bills, and since 1969 all of them have carried greed Federal Reserve Seals. The last brown-seal $100 bills were printed in 1890.

Your bill is called a United States Note rather than a promissory note.

All US bills have captions on them identifying the person whose portrait is on the front and the building or scene shown on the back. If you look through the bills in your wallet you'll find that the Treasury building is shown on the reverse of the $10 bill.

You should have your bill evaluated by a dealer or appraiser who handles error currency. Depending on its condition it could be worth $100 to $200.

The presses that print US bills have two counters on them that add the serial numbers. They're supposed to be kept in sync but sometimes one will get stuck, causing two different serial numbers to be printed on the same bill.

Of course there are several factors involved in price.

Many people would only give you face value...however errors ( if authentic ) will bring a premium above face value.

I have seen a 1969 one dollar bill ( vg + ) with different serial numbers with an asking price from a business of $365.00

Never just hand over this bill without a receipt, and as an added precaution I would use a printer so you have a visual record.

Starting in 1928 all silver certificates were printed with blue seals, not red seals. United States Notes used red ink. Each also had the bill's type shown in a banner across the top front above the portrait. Prior to 1928 there was no standard color coding so a bill's type couldn't be inferred from the seal color alone.

$5 silver certificates were printed with the dates 1886, 1891, 1896, 1899, 1923, 1934, and 1953.

$10 silver certificates were printed with the dates 1878, 1880, 1886, 1891, 1908, 1933, 1934, and 1953.

However those are what are called "series" dates; printing actually went on during many intervening years but the series date wasn't changed.
