It is called pre-answering a question and is definitely allowed if not encouraged. You never know if someone is interested in something you might post but simply has not asked the question or perhaps has not thought about it.

Some of this sites regulations can be found by going to the left of your computer screen in the blue box area under the title Site Tools and then at the bottom of Site Tools click on Help Center.
