I think you must mean the BEECHER BIBLE. Actually it was a term
for a rifle as I remember it. Around 1860 a church in Kansas needed
rifles and bibles. Money was raised and they were both sent in
crates marked BIBLES to avoid suspicion. A pastor agreed to get
them and his name was Beecher. So the term Beechers Bibles came
