Beecher bibles were a shipment of rifles sent by abolitionist preacher Henry Ward Beecher to anti-slavery settlers in Kansas in the 1850s to help defend themselves against pro-slavery forces in the area. The rifles were disguised as Bibles to avoid detection by pro-slavery supporters.

I think you must mean the BEECHER BIBLE. Actually it was a term for a rifle as I remember it. Around 1860 a church in Kansas needed rifles and bibles. Money was raised and they were both sent in crates marked BIBLES to avoid suspicion. A pastor agreed to get them and his name was Beecher. So the term Beechers Bibles came into being.
