La finta giardiniera was created in 1775.

Giardiniera has many uses depending on your own tastes. For instance, italians often use a hot giardiniera to put as a topping on pizza, or spaghetti. It can be used as a cold relish on beef sandwiches etc....or as an extra relish with chicken and salad. Its really nice with certain cheeses too.
