If you want to get in the best shape of your life, there’s no better way to do it than by joining a fitness club. Fitness clubs are not like musclehead gyms. Their dumbbells might not go up to 200 lbs like they do at the gyms, but they offer a lot more in the way of activities and facilities. A gym is often a small area with free weights, machines, and treadmills. You will often find people into strength training in these environments. At a fitness club, you will find a variety of people, including those who want to gain strength, tone their body, lose weight, improve flexibility, or train in a certain sport, dance, or martial art. The facilities will often include a locker room, swimming pool, hot tub, basketball court, studio, and the same equipment you would find in a gym. Since so much more is offered, the price will be a lot higher than at a standard gym. These prices often range from $50 to $80 per month. This might sound like it’s out of your league, but membership prices at fitness clubs are never set in stone.

The first thing you need to do when you’re ready to join a fitness club is talk to a few friends or family members about it. See if they want to join with you. If this doesn’t pan out, look for people with similar interests online. If they live in the area, they might be willing to go in on a deal with you. It’s not required that you become their friend. The goal here is to get a group of four people or more to join the fitness club at the same time. By doing this, the fitness club will offer you a discounted rate. This will sometimes be by as much as 50%. If the salesman at the fitness club is not playing ball, let them know that you’re going to try somewhere else. They will often call you back in. If this bluff doesn’t work, attempt the same approach with a different salesman on a different day.

Another way to save money at a fitness club is to sign up for a long period of time. This might be beneficial for both parties, but it’s always wise to ask for a 5-day pass to see if the facilities are a good fit for you. They almost always honor this request.

These two strategies will allow you to get in the best shape of your life for cheap.
