The northern mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) is the only species of mockingbird native to North America, having habitats from Canada to Mexico.

If it's gray, about 9" long, and in North America, it's probably a Northern Mockingbird.

The average weight of an unladen mockingbird (Northern variety) is 1.6 to 2 ounces.
