In 1936, Orde Wingate organized members of the Jewish
paramilitary group, Hagannah, along with British forces into the
Special Night Squads and fought the Arab Revolt of 1936 The Mandate
Palestine Police employed both Jewish, Arab Muslim and Arab
Christian "supernumary constables". The Palestine Force was the
only colonial police force that did not employ full-time native
officers.
