I personally recommend Newbalance. I have not shopped for shoes in a long time thanks to this quality shoe brand.

In California, the short answer is no. You can drive barefoot so long as it is safe for you to do so.

The rule of thumb, however, is that you are supposed to be consistent. If you like to drive barefoot, then do so all the time. If you usually drive with shoes, wear the shoes.

Unless the shoes are soaking wet or very tight, it isn't really bad at all. They might feel bad afterwards from being constrained so long.

As long as the shoes aren't made of pork, it's all good.
