The Iranian government is not representative of the Iranian people. The Iranian government alleges that the US and other Western Powers are controlled by the Zionists to have an irrational hatred of the regime, probably because it is Muslim and does not "cower to Imperialists". Most Iranians realize that this view is ridiculous, primarily because it is and Iranians are, on average, very intelligent people.
