"When garbage is thrown in the ocean it affects more than just the water." says Dr.Carson Fish, birds, and other marine life are affected in many ways. They often mistake garbage for food and are either poisoned or choked. Purple Petteca fish are now extinct due to trash.

I was doing a project on trash in the ocean and used this question. I tried to look up the fish (Purple Petteca) and there is no such thing as a Purple Petteca. Plus, there is no citation and no first name for the supposed "Dr. Carson". So in a conclusion, I WOULD LIKE TO CALL THE REPLY ABOVE A HOAX!
Of course it is!
it pollutes the ocean.
that is a stupid question (no offense)WhAt dO YOU dO With YOUR tRASh?:)hawaii may be far, from North America, but it is not like we throw all our trash into the ocean! :D
Because lazy butt people can't throw their stinking trash in a trashcan at the beach they are too lazy to walk up the beach so they think they can throw their trash at the ocean coast and get away with it.
"throw it all in the ocean" Federal government
Beach clean ups. The encouragement to not throw trash into the ocean. That's all I can think off right now.
for our ocean's not leave trash in the beach or else the water will wash in to the sea. for our community not smoke, the smelly smoke from the cigarette's make pollution too. plus:dont throw trash on the floor if you see any go green and throw it for them.
trash gets into the ocean by people that just go and put their trash there.
humans pollute the indian ocean and use it like a garbage patch because they are to lazy to throw away their own trash.
in the ocean....
Approximately 0.1 of the ocean is comprised of trash.
You throw it in a trash bag... or if it is a food item that is able to degrade you make a compost bin and throw it in there.
