Mt. Mitchell is the highest mountain in the Appalachian Mountains. Its elevation is 6,684 ft (2,037 m).
Just to the East of Chatanooga there is a peak at the height of about 4768 feet. This is towards the south of the Appalacian range and about 100miles North East of Atlanta. Hope this helps, LAHs
