What will a decrease a revenue and a increase liability?

I can think of nothing that will do that in one transaction. Revenue generally does not effect your liabilities. Revenue is an Owners Equity account and most transactions in revenue effect that, not liabilities. (there is one exception and it is explained later on.)Expenses decrease revenue, which in turn decreases retained earnings which effects owners equity.Dividends Paid decrease retained earnings, which in turns also effects owners equity. The only time any "revenue" has an effect on liabilities is if it is an "unearned" revenue. An unearned revenue is a liability, however, it "increases" your liabilities and increases your assets at the same time. Once the unearned revenue is "earned" it then increases your "revenue" and you decrease your liability.

Unearned Revenue has a normal balance of a?

Credit. Unearned Revenue is a Liability and like all Liabilities it has a Credit Balance.I decided to add this as I have been asked "why" is Unearned Revenue a liability isn't it Revenue?Yes and no. The key word here is "Unearned". Because of the fact that it is unearned, the company (although has received money) is liable for that in some form. For example, if a person pays a business $5,000 in advance for painting their house, the company now is liable for that amount, meaning they have to do one of two things.1. Complete the job and "earn" the moneyor2. Refund the money and not do the jobUntil this is done, the money received in advance for the job is listed as Unearned Revenue and categorized as a liability.

Not right away. When you record unearned fees or revenue it only hits the balance sheet.
