I think that the most important reason the Pilgrims came to the New World (America) was that they were seeking religious freedom. Some people were given the option to go to the New World because it was too expensive to keep them in jail. Others went to make a fresh start and some were even political refugees. I think these are some of the most important reasons because going to the New Wold and starting a whole new life in an unknown place is a huge decision that you shouldn't take lightly.
