It is best to wash your dog with dog shampoo, but if you have none, baby shampoo is better than adult people shampoo.

You can - but they will not be anywhere near as effective. Cats are much smaller than dogs, and they are also sensitive to certain ingredients which work well on dogs (which is why you must never use a dog shampoo on a cat). The components of cat flea and tick shampoos are unlikely to provide sufficient protection for dogs.

Please read thoroughly. Short answer is yes, but, you must be careful not to cause an overdose or reaction with the types of chemicals that are used for killing the parasites. If you can avoid the "flea killer" in a shampoo that would be better. If you are near the end of the month for your last Advantage dosing, then you should be safe using a regular flea/tick shampoo, and then waiting 3 to 5 days before you apply the next months' dose of Advantage. Things to be cautious of, do not add permethrins together! If you're using k9 Advanix (brand of advantage but with permethrin for killing ticks) and you use a permethrin based shampoo, you could easily cause your dog to be sick from too much permethrin. note the M in permethrin, this is not the same as pryethrin, though they are similar, permethrin is the man-made super strength stuff which is enhanced to last longer, target the actions desired. Also keep in mind, that as animals get older their resistivity to chemicals starts to suffer, just like in humans, and so last time they may not have shown any adverse reaction, this time they could .. etc.. (personal experience in this regard!).

you can use a flea shampoo on ur dog if they don't have fleas, but I'm not sure wat it will do!
