You can buy the Colosseum, then if you get a silver or gold medal in the contest, you get gems ***update*** Super AthleteRox( add me on game centre, same username) I believe that you can get gems by selling dragon hybrids that cost gems. Though I haven't tried my theory, I will get back to you eventually. It turns out they my theory doesn't actually work but doing this will give you thousands on dragonvale dollars. For instance, if you sell a mountain dragon you'll get 50, 000 dragonvale money!!!

Actually there is a way its not like cheating, you basically earn them. Keep cooking thing the bar under it on the cook book will keep going up and when it feels up and you get 1 gem.Or you keep going on going on that game _______ days straight and for some days you could gems or a large coin value.....i tried selling my stuff that were worth gems but no hope.

This probably wasn't what you were expecting earning it a slow way but i get like 2 gems a day this way they'll add up :)

Sometimes offers will come up where u can download a game and get free gems (then later u can delete the app after u get the gems) otherwise you will have to buy them.
