How do you get past the fan on shrink ray island on poptropica?

During the "demo period" prior to its release on July 28, 2011, non-members could only get as far as being shrunk. You couldn't play the quest.

After the release, it became obvious that there was a major error, because there was no easy way to leave the island. The fan was blocking the way.

To go left, you have to get onto the bed from the right. Go over to the computer desk, and jump up to the wall thermostat, and walk to turn the dial to the red area. Now the vent is on at the bed, so go back and shove over the wastebasket, and you can climb up the floating papers.

Going right, jump on the fan and it will lower down. You can turn it on to blow the dust under the bed.

Coming back left from the computer : jump up on the computer desk and reach the thermostat on the wall. Run on it to turn it to the right until it reaches the "red zone" (the room heater comes on). When you reach the bed, dump over the wastebasket and various pieces of paper trash will be blown up in the updraft from the vent. You can climb on them to reach the bed. (Don't forget to check out the Morse Code book that is there.)

go in the bathroom. up near the counter, there are 2 switches. jump the on soap bottle, then the hairspray, then on the SECOND switch and press it down.your avatar will say something. once you are in cj's room you will notice there is some light coming from the floor vent. go on the right side of the trash can, then knock over by pushing it. the trash will float. jump on them them and get onto the bed. jump on the dolly, then you'll bounce to the balloon. once you're on a string, go to the side. bingo!

You can leave at any time using the small Poptropica Blimp that is in CJ's room. To get back to the telescope area from the bed, you have to go right to the computer desk and climb up, then jump to the thermostat on the wall. Walk on it to turn it to the red zone, which turns on the heater. Go back left to the bed and knock over the wastebasket. You can climb to the bed on the floating papers.
