It has been out since 1994. 'Warcraft : Orcs and Humans' was released in 1994, followed by 'Warcraft II Tides of Darkness' in 1995, an addon for Warcraft II, 'Beyond the Dark Portal' then 'Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition', followed by 'Warcraft III Reign of Chaos' in 2002 and it's addon- 'The Frozen Throne' in 2003. 'World of Warcraft' (online) was released November 23, 2004 and it expansions include: 'The Burning Crusade' (2007) and 'Wrath of the Lich King' (2008).

∙ 14y agoWoW is not Warcraft IV. Rob Pardo and Frank Pierce from Blizzard have said that after Starcraft II "trilogy" is complete, Warcraft IV is something they will seriously consider.

∙ 11y agoBlizzard have no plans at the moment to make Warcraft 4. Some people see World Of Warcraft as a symbolic follow-up to the previous series of games due to it being set after Warcraft 3.

No plans for a warcraft 4 have been announced. It has been stated that World of Warcraft is technically their "warcraft 4" because it has been ( and still is) continuing the storyline of the warcraft universe.

There have not been any announced plans for a Warcraft 4. They are working on a new MMO type of game that is different from World of Warcraft, although that is all they are sayin on it.
