Why does Edward Cullen love Bella Swan in the 'Twilight' series?

Jacob isn't really in love with Bella, its just that Bella is Renesmee's mother, and therefore contains certain qualities and personality traits as her. He is so close to Bella, and stays in Bella's life because it is fate that he falls in love with her daughter, and he would not have ever seen Renesmee if he hadn't been in love with Bella. It prooves this when Jacob suddenly stops being 'in love' with Bella when he sees Renesmee.

He likes her because she smells good. He's just the typical, materialistic, hormone-ridden boy with added qualities that make Bella attracted to him, too, like giant hair and a super-athletic build. It could also be that he wants someone different (he can't read her mind) than the other girls that swoon over him, even though she swoons over him too just as much.
