Why do blue tongued lizards have blue tongues?

The blue tongue is mainly used for scaring of predators from eating them. The predator is usually put off by the blue and leaves it alone.Trust me, I should know because I have one and he did this to my dog and my dogDID NOT like that at all!!Because they eat a lot of ice, and the veins in their tongues freeze. If they eat too much ice, you can just snap it of with your hand

What food do blue-tongue lizards eat?

blue-tongues lizards can be fed live crickets and meal-worms or any types if insects that are not bigger then the lizard. you can also feed them small pieces of apple, banana or bits of lettuce. you can also feed them canned snails, or canned turtle food. canned dog food, or cat food can work as well also apple sauce (my blue loves it!) , blueberries, grapes, strawberries, eggs (raw, cooked, doesn't matter) Once in a while, maybe once a week a mouse.
