yes guinea pigs can eat meat when they are babies or new born, but when they get older they can not eat meat. i dont know why but they do. i went to the petstore and they said that also. go ask if you dont believe me

∙ 14y agoThey're hungry? That's why most animals would eat each other. If you put two males in a cage though they may fight, but I've never heard of them eating each other. Also if you put a male and a female in a cage and they have sex and give birth to a male the dad may attack the baby as competition for the female.

∙ 12y agoNo, unlike hamsters the parents (adults) do not eat thir young. Guinea pigs are strict herbivores and stick to the plants, however they have been known to eat their dead sometimes when starving and cant find food, this situation though, is rare.
