Hamsters, unlike dogs and cats, don't need to go to the vet on a regular basis. But if you feel that something is wrong with your hamster, it would be in it's best intrest to take it to the vet.
When you first buy a hamster, you will need to purchase a cage or habitat with food and water dishes, bedding material, hamster food, an exercise wheel, chew toys, and possibly a hiding house or tunnel for your hamster to feel comfortable and secure. Additionally, you may need to buy a water bottle and some treats for your new hamster.
Well, you can't but they sell some hamster powder on PETSMART. So you should go there and buy some if you need. Trust me i wouldn't put baby powder on my hamster.
The best place to get any hamster is at a reputable pet store such as PetsMart. You never know if a hamster will be nice until you get it home.
When a hamster bites its cage door, it could be due to boredom, stress, a lack of space, or a desire to explore beyond its enclosure. It may also be a sign that the hamster's teeth need trimming, or it could simply be a natural behavior for some hamsters. Providing enrichment activities, ensuring adequate space and exercise opportunities, and monitoring the hamster's dental health can help address this behavior.
The cost of a hamster at Petsmart can vary depending on the type and breed of the hamster. Generally, hamsters can range from $5 to $20. It is recommended to check with your local Petsmart store for the specific pricing.

Before you get the hamster you need to get the cage prepared, then you can buy the hamster. The pet shop will give you a cardboard box to take it home in. Once your home, put the cardboard box in the cage then open it and let the hamster crawl into the cage and settle in before you start to handle it.
If you are a beginner, consider adopting dwarf or Syrian hamsters. They are the easiest to take care of and they are quite cute ! If you have taken care of a hamster before, and you are responsible, you can accept the challenge of taking care of a fancy hamster. A fancy hamster has long fur and you need to comb it every other day and occasionally cut it's hair! If you feel responsible enough, you can take care of any breed of hamster.
They run on hamster wheels, but if you don't have that it's also good to take them on a walk.(you should make or buy a right sized collar.

You first need to think about where your going to buy your hamster and all of it supplies. I suggest your nearest PetCo, they have really cool stuff, and they do not house males and females together, which means that you will not end up with a pregnant hamster. Then you need to think of where your going to put your hamster. After that, you need to go online or visit PetCo, the online is petco.com and pick out a cage that you like, make sure you find a hamster cage. Then you need to buy: a hamster water bottle, a hamster food dish, a bag of treats, hamster or gerbil food, a hut for you hamsters bed, and hamster bedding. After you have all of your supplies, talk to a person who works at PetCo, have them answer any questions you may have. Finaly you need to pick out a hamster, any hamster is fine, just pick the one that you like. Good luck! :)Costs:food:$3-7bedding:$4-8food dish:$2-3water bottle:$3-7hut:$4-10cage:$30-60treats:$1-5hamster:$10 plus taxBy the way. It would be a great idea to buy a Booklet on Hamsters. I am an owner of cats, hamsters, rabbits and all sorts! So I understand your need of advice. your hamster is just like you, if someone says to you do you want a mansion for free you will obviously take it! So think about this very carefully what would you rather have a cardboard box or a mansion to live the rest of your life in? its the same as your hamster. Be daring but caring and buy the biggest cage you want for your hamster, the bigger the better eh?
