How big can owls get? We have a huge one in our neighborhood. And it has a 6 foot wing span. Someone had it in their front yard. It only comes out in the daytime. I thought they were nocturnal. IT is HUGE!!!!!
It depends on the owl species. The smallest owl species is the elf owl. They can grow to be between 13 and 30 cm tall. The largest owl species is the Eurasion Eagle Owl, which can grow between 58 and 71 cm long.
It depends on what kind of owl it is. The smallest owl, the Elf Owl, grows only to about 30 centimeters, while the largest owl, Eurasian Eagle Owl, grows up to 30 inches long with a wingspan of 79 inches.
I think is 70cm
Anywhere from 5 in to 3 feet
Each type of owl is a different size,
The small Pygmy owl's average length is about 17.5 cm
while the Barn Owl's average is about 35 cm
The spotted owls •Body Length are 16 -19 inches
•Wingspan is 3 ½ feet
•Weights are 1 - 1 ½ pounds
The world's tallest owl species is the great grey owl. Female great grey owls average 28 inches tall and males of the species average 26 inches tall.
It would depend on the size of the owl. A barn owl egg is about the same size as a pigeon's. A Northern Pygmy Owl egg is about the size of a cockatiels'.
An Ostrich.

Owls cannot make a pellet too big, the pellet would become two if it had too. Owls generally swallow their prey whole, the pellet therefore would not usually be bigger than the original meal.
That is why owls has very big eyes.. they can see anything.. Common Sense
No, owls do not have horns, but some do have ear tufts which probably help make it look like another animal to protect it from other predators.
Smaller owls, such as Burrowing Owls and Screech Owls, do eat insects on occasion.

Darwin would have said that a few owls were born with bigger eyes. The owls with the big eyes would survive better and have more offspring so the owls with small eyes were less common untill there were only big eyed owls. This is called natural selection.
