well, I've heard that they actually shed their coat, but I'm not sure if they're supposed to do that DURING the winter, or after. One of mine has lost her whole entire backside's worth of hair, but i think that's mainly just because she's got cancer. :'(
my guinea pig is actually shedding a lot right now during the winter. I do not think that there is anything to bad with it. It may be a problem with diet but nothing to bad.

∙ 15y agoThink of it like wearing a coat all year round. are you going to wear a winter coat in summer? that's why they shed - and grow it back for winter.
