One reason is because birds don't make eye contact, so when a human does make eye contact, it is seen as a danger or threat.

Another is that we seem big. If a giant ran over to you and wanted to pick you up, would you be scared?

Birds are scared of humans because for years we have been shooting them. also if a giant came to you and tried to touch you you would run.

Define interact. And if you mean they have daily conversations over a nice cup of tea? Then no. If you mean the puffin bird chases after humans stealing their hats and food....then yes.
