This may not be true for all makes of cars, but some basic dashboards are made using the process of injection molding in which the entire dashboard is molded in one piece. The lights, radio, glove compartment, etc. are added at the factory producing the vehicle.

The garmin portable friction mount will work in any vehicle. The vehicle must have a stable area for you to place the friction mount, once you do that you're set!

I have used spray contact cement with good results. Two average ones made by Elmer's, and an excellent but expensive one made by 3M.
