your wires may be loose or broken, the voltage sensor on the car may be fried(i dont know if that is replaceable).... best thing to do is install a real voltage meter on your car to replace the dummy light. you can disconnnect the light bulb once you do this so you can accurately check your voltage on your car. you can purchase one from any auto parts store and it will have a wiring diagram on how to properly install to get an accurate reading. I hate dummy lights, but it makes your dash more simple to read....
The alternator on a Chrysler 300m can be replaced by disconnecting the battery, removing the wiring harness from the alternator, and then unbolting it from the mounts. The drive belt can then be slipped off and a new alternator put into place.
There is not an alternator indicator light on a Honda Pilot. If the alternator goes out, the battery will not stay charged.
by changing the alternator
The computer only resets when the battery is removed. The alternator just charges the battery, so if the battery is left connected when the alternator is replaced, the computer should not reset.
your alternator is not charging
The alternator may be defective.
Red means that the battery charge level is low or that the alternator is not charging battery properly. Check alternator, voltage regulator, connectors.
disconnect the battery. Remove the alternator belt then disconnect the wires. Unbolt the alternator and remove. Bolt the new alternator in then connect the wires, belt, and battery.
Don't know this cars specifics, but usually, if the alternator light is on in your dash (the battery symbol) it means that your alternator is not charging your battery or that your battery cannot hold a charge.
did you check the alternator??
