1997 cavalier it needed a motor I got a 1999 motor and the check eng light keeps on come on for a egr but the 1999 motor does not have a egr how do you get the light to go off?

Put the original 97 intake W/EGR on the 99 head. On one of mine I had to keep the intake(due to the EGR) and the exhaust manifolds(Due to flange bolt pattern) ~4 bolt or 3 bolt~" with the car..... OR you can just plug it in and tuck it out of the way somewhere...it dont have to work,just pluged up.
