Well, the disadvantages are numerous (costs, acceptance rates, etc.)
However, there are plenty of reasons to attend a private college/university:
(All of these are "typical" as no general statements can be made about every single college)
-Smaller class sizes
-More individual attention
-Classes taught by professors, not TA's
-More tight knit student body
-Mommy and daddy know they are sending you to a nice private school

∙ 11y agoNo, students who are attend private school have not been proven to preform better than their public school counterparts. The only advantage they may have would be socioeconomic status.
