Try to start last working version... If you laptop (netbook) is having problems to start in Safe Mode there is not much you can do... One of things you can do is to load the system in command line mode and see where it stops. And go from there...
If your screen goes black and you have a gaming laptop, consider getting a powered laptop cooler.
No it causes the black screen of death
i don't know about black, but i had an unforrtunate glitch with camstudio which made my screen flash different colours when i clicked the window called flashing (go figure =/ ) The only way to fix that was to restart my laptop, which isn't really good for it. Dunno about straight out black, but my flashing screen definitely had some black in it.
Just restart your laptop!
Format the C: drive
Either via remote desktop connection or by attaching a external monitor. If your laptop screen does not show anything - not even a manufacturers/Microsoft logo during start, it is likely your screen is broken. If your laptop-screen shows a very faint picture, it is likely the back light of your laptop screen is broken / disconnected. If however, everything is normal, up to when you would normally see your lo gin screen, but then your screen goes black, it is likely to be a setting on your computer, which you yourself can fix. Please refer to the related link black screen. If you get a new laptop and bring your old laptop to the store you can get the info transferred from the old one to the new one you can also do this with cell phones. Ken Eddy
Normally a monitor has controls (buttons) at the bottom that let you adjust the screen. You can make it wider and taller and move it left and right and make other adjustments. By making it taller then wider you can make it fill the screen. I don't know how this is done on a laptop
This is most likely to be caused by the screen backlight not working - you need to get the backlight or inverter replaced.
If your laptop has a black screen but the cursors still there and ctrl plus alt plus dlt works there may be a few issues. This could be a screen issue and bad LCD, loose or disconnected cable, or the backlight can be malfunctioning.
