Hey Marvin==It is probably the relay which is among the relays under the hood. Check it out. GoodluckJoe
If it's is an 2.2L ECOTEC engine (it will say right on it) It will have a little housing that you pull the filter element out of, it will not be the regular everyday oil filters that you see. You will see it when you look under the hood. It will be black and you will need a 1 1/4 socket , and extent…ion, and a ratcket. It will be located under a solid (possibly) black air duct so you will have to crack it loose and turn the rest by hand (just because it is partially under and your socket will get stuck, lol) Then you just pull the filter off of the cap and put the new one int Make sure the new one clicks in, and that you can spin it with ease (you'll see). Place it back in and tighten it snug. The drain plug is underneath and it should be a 15 mm, if not, then a 13 mm. It will take 4.7 L when u put oil back in (Canadian Litres). The filters should be $13 at GM and $10 at Canadian Tire. (MORE)
usually, fan sensor is on block water outlet. that's where the hose leaves the block and goes back into the raidiator. you 'll find two sensors at that point. more than likely tho, if your fans not owrking its the fan relay that's bad, I'll bet on it.

it is a hose on the engine, close to the brake fluid. screw the hose off, then you can pull PVC out.
On a 1998 Cavalier, the IAT sensor is located in the hoseconnecting the air cleaner to the throttle body. The IAT is atwo-wire sensor.
Answer . \nOpen that little book that came with your car, called the owner's manual. There you will find this information.
The horn is on the left side under the corner of the bumper. If you take the bumper off you will know it when you see it.
Answer . It's located at the front of the passenger front fender, inside the plastic splash shield. You would need to remove the horn to get to it.
Note:It may be necessary to remove the exhaust pipe(s) or frame crossmember to gain access to the starter. In extreme cases it may be necessary to unbolt the mounts and raise the engine slightly to get starter out . Disconnect the negative battery cable. If the vehicle is equipped with a delco loc 2… or theftlock audio system make sure to have the activation code before disconnecting the battery. . Raise the front of the car and support it securely on jackstands.Apply the parking brake and block the rear wheels. . A Cavalier can sputter do to a number of things. Cars sputter dueto bad spark plugs, bad compression, broken engine mounts, or evena failing catalytic converter.
Answer . unplug the battery, let it sit disconnected for 10-15 minutes, plug it back in...voila
Answer . \nIf your horn is the same as a 1996 Cavalier which is very possible it will be located on the passengers side behind the tire fender well (mispelled maybe). You can lay down and look up under the front bumper to see it but you need to take off the fender well to reach it easily. A straight forward simple swap. make sure you mark your plug leads 1 to 4 so you get them back in the same place. Simple job.
I can not leagally tell you. But if you do this it will seriously decrease the value of the car, illeagal to do, and dangerous to your health and the people around you.
body parts: 2000-2002. Engine parts: most of them can be swapped from 95-2002 with the same engine.
Can i put a 2004 Chevy cavalier 2.2 engine in my 1999 cavalier my engine is also 2.2 is it compatible?
Answer . If they're both 2.2L pushrod or both 2.2L Ecotec DOHC, yes. Check the 8th digit of the VIN at the left bottom corner of the windshield or on the sticker in the driver door jamb. The 99 isn't an Ecotec, so let's hope they're both pushrod.

how do reset a 1998 chevey cavalier antitheft system if it want start and the anti theft light is on
yea it should? it shouldn't matter if its a 2.2 or 2.4 they should be the same set up
Check the 8th digit of your VIN # located on top of the dash, visible from the outside looking thru the windshield on the dirvers side, then check with your local auto parts store with this letter or number and they will tell you what it is.
LOL!!!!!! In all fairness, my '98 Cavalier has almost 130k miles on it...but not without a price. I've had to put 2 water pumps in it (at $900 a piece! - engine has to come out to replace it); all sorts of electronic troubles; door & hood latches stop working; trunk leaks; coolant light never goes o…ut - unless fuel light comes on(?); occasionally has a bad problem of slowing to the point of stalling when initially accelerating - Chevy has never been able to figure this one out (can be quite dangerous if entering a highway); lost all interior lighting - not a fuse issue, etc. My mechanic refers to her as "Christine"... If it is an automatic, there isn't one. As stupid as it seems, the oil level is checked with a level plug located in the side of the transaxle that is only accessible when the car is on a hoist. The car must be level, transmission warm and on a level surface (hoist) when removing the plug to check. …The transmission is filled by removing the vent located on the top of the transmission. The starter for a 1998 Cavalier is mounted on the side of theengine. It is at the rear, near the bottom.
Approximately 85 percent of the parts of the 1998 ChevroletCavalier and the 1998 Pontiac sun fire are interchangeable. Most ofthe parts that are not interchangeable are in the passengercompartment.
Most body parts will interchange. The hood, grille, headlights, front and rear bumper covers and support bars were changed in 2003. The front fenders will however will fit between cars. The trunk lid will fit, but you will have to drill some holes in it to attach the new reflector.
most of them as long as you go 96-00 and not the bumpers, ext lights, front fendors or hood everything else can be swapped body panels do need "finessing"
Start a the longest and work towards the shortest line (RR,LR,RF,LF). Attach a flexible line to the bleeder screw and place the other end into a container of clean brake fluid.. Go to next wheel. Make sure Master cylinder does not empty during procedure (MORE)
The solenoid/starter motor assembly is installed on the lower part of the engine next to the transmission bellhousing
If it is an automatic, it will not have a dipstick. It is a sealed transfer case.
A Cavalier was a group of people that supported the king in the English Civil War.
the ecu is under the wheel well. you have to take the wheel well covers off from the underside,(plastic inner) of the passenger side and the ecu should be right there
No...No....No... The 2.2L OHV engine and the 2.4L DOHC (Quad-4) engine are two different animals.
Yes...I checked with the dealer parts depatment and it come up as the same part number. But you should compare the old with the new to see for yourself that they match. Good luck with your repair.
Not for an extended distance and make sure the vehicle is in neutral. Even better if the car will run first start it and then tow in neutral. This will save the transmission.
best answer is take it to a brake shop it's not something that should put your life on the line for. but if you have to do it you will need a Chevy brake tool or an Allen wrench to remove the calipers then its simple to switch out pads. drums again I recomend a shop.
You add freon to the a/c by using the low side, suction side (larger hose).............
Yes, but the exhaust manifold (due to the flange where it connects to the exhaust pipe is different) and the intake manifold (due to the EGR Valve) will have stay with the car. yes their the same engine the only problem you might run into is ac on the other car or your car if not properly done you may not have ac in your current car
A Z24 is normally luxury parts with a bigger 2.4L engine. Normally running around 150HP and 155lb torque. with normal cavaliers running to 130-140HP. Basically the Z24 is the sportier model of the cavaliers.
the only thing i can think of is a crack in the intake manifold. my cavalier's manifold cracked and it was idling at like 2500RPM as opposed to the normal 1000-1500, also i had trouble with my brakes and misc other problems because of the crack. if it is just idling too high and there are no other p…roblems i would guess that it is just compensating for the cold. if there are other little issues, i would look into having your intake manifold checked out. gotta take care of your baby because cavaliers are such great cars...... :p (MORE)

There is no carb. It's fuel injected. There hasn't been a carb on a car since the late 80's. I'm fairly certain 87 was the last year for carb equipped American built vehicles.
Depending on the parts you are wanting to interchange....yes. For the most part they are.

the 2.2, the 2.4 and the 2.2 ECOTEC. the mount are the same for the ecos and 2.4. you just need to change the tranny, harness and fuel pump

Between the air filter and the throttle body. IAT is short for Intake Air Temp.
