* Hawkeye Point * Ocheyedan Mound * Pikes Point * Pilot Knob * Pillsbury Point The def. of a mountain is anything that is 1,000 ft or high compared to its surroundings. Even though they do not call them mountain, they are indeed such(if not considering steepness). It use to upset my high school Earth Science teacher. **All below are bluff elavations not how far above sea level** Pikes Peak in NE Iowa is 1125 ft.-Is a very beautiful full too. There are many hills around it that are the same height or higher. In that same general area is Mount Hosmer City Park in Lansing, Iowa that is 1000 Ft. There are many other higher hills in that whole general area along with all the way as south at Balltown,IA area. Eagle Rock Overlook in Effigy Mounds National Monument is 1020 ft. The Overlook in Guttenberg is 900 feet itself. The hills between behind the town of Guttenberg(Where I went to school) are higher. My science teacher does class. them as mountains(even though off. they are not) As far as the one listed above. Hawkeye Point -the elevation is over 1,600 ft. I think that is the elev. above sea level not a bluff elevation.Ocheyedan Mound would be the same. It is over 1,600 above sea level, but not that in height. It seems as if all the others listed would be the same way.
