Heres an idea: You could talk about 2 guys who were best friends when they were in school, one didnt study and got bad grades and the other was top of the class, they grew appart because of their differences as they got older and the lazy one started hanging out with the wrong people, became a bulley, iddnt finish school and didng go to college, became a criminal and was cought stealing, while the other one became a lawer/barrister and and the two met in court where good guy was prossecuting his ex-best friend, and all because he made friends with the wrong crowd. hope this helped.

The opposite, "opposites attract", can be regarded as explanation to an outsider without having to exchange enough information that the sameness can be seen and understood.
